2010 NEW CHALLENGE! NEW YOU!

New Year is a time of new beginnings for a lot of people and beginning a strict diet or crash exercise programme is probably the #1 resolution made. Within a couple of weeks or by the end of January, this resolution is usually broken. Instead of committing yourself to a “diet” or other major lifestyle change in 2010, try resolving to make gradual and gentle changes this year, which will lead to a healthy weight, a better feeling of well-being and a long-term way of better living.

Mid-January/the beginning of February is an excellent time to start a new challenge of creating a different lifestyle. When most people start a diet, they often drastically change their eating habits in a way they’ll never be able to keep up long-term. Instead of making sudden drastic changes, start making smaller changes, which you will be able to continue and learn a healthier way of eating. Don’t think of it as “I need to lose weight”; think of it as “I want to be healthier”. There is a lot of information out there about healthy eating and most people KNOW what to do, they just don’t do it! So, as Nike says “Just do it” and begin to gently create a “well” way of living.

Speaking of Nike, in order to maximize you wellness, it’s time to embark upon a journey to exercise - one which suits your lifestyle and is fun! Again, we all KNOW exercise is vitally important to a total health and well-being plan, but we need to take ACTION!

A regular exercise plan, which you enjoy, ensures you will be fitter, stronger, healthier and happier. Looking and feeling great takes commitment, dedication and perspiration (also detoxifying!), AND it can be fun and very rewarding.

Begin your journey at our Leisure Club in Lydstep – it’s a quiet gym, supervised by a qualified fitness professional who is enthusiastic and dedicated to offering advice and help. Inductions, assessments, personalized exercise plans tailored to your fitness level and lifestyle, and ongoing support are all part of Celtic Haven’s service.

Iân Morris, our Fitness Professional at Celtic Haven says “The key is to combine resistance workouts with cardiovascular (CV) training, indoor or outdoor, and a balanced nutritional diet.

Benefits of a regular exercise plan include: Improving the shape of your body, gaining strength, building and toning muscle, losing body fat, improving your fitness, performing better in other activities and increasing your alertness and energy.

Getting fitter and leaner requires a proper plan of action. Grasp the opportunity to complete your workout with purpose, passion and commitment. Trying something new or different can often bring about surprising leaps in motivation and performance.

Whether you are a first time novice, a regular recreational participant or inexperienced with exercise, it’s all about balancing and integrating your training goals with your other commitments.”
