Top Pembrokeshire family activities
With many families coming to our resort to enjoy a get-away in our beautiful county, we’ve taken the time out to compile a detailed guide of some of the best Pembrokeshire family activities to take advantage of when you next visit!
Here are six ideas for trips that we can guarantee you’ll make plenty of memories at when you next visit Celtic Haven.
Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo
The farm offers an array of activities that are suitable for the whole family, with a zoo, barn and fairground all available on site.
The zoo offers the opportunity to see lions, rhinos, giraffes and penguins up close at their well-loved zoo that is home to over 90 different species across its enclosures.
The barn area also offers a petting corner that is a well-loved part of any visit, with Folly Farm giving its visitors the chance to “cwtch” with some adorable animals ever since it opened back in 1988.
Visitors will love the chance to cuddle a rabbit, get hands-on with a guinea pig or stroke a lamb. There are lots of exciting events at Folly Farm with there being free timetabled events, including zoo animal talks and animal encounters in the Jolly Barn.
You can check out their website here for more details.
Oakwood Theme Park
Located in the heart of the county, Oakwood boasts the accolade of being Wales’ biggest theme park and is filled with thrills and excitement for children and adults alike!
Whether you’re looking for an adrenaline-fuelled experience or a magical adventure, Oakwood has plenty of rides – big and small – and many different attractions catering to all ages.
You can join Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and friends at the Neverland world inspired by the imaginative story of JM Barrie that features a Jolly Roger Pirate Ship ride, Skull Rock log flume, Crocodile Coaster and Tink’s Flying School carousel.
If the little ones are feeling brave, you can hop aboard the child-friendly rollercoasters, including the Spooky 3D haunted house ride, the Treetops rollercoaster, and the Snake River Falls water flume.
Alongside the kid-friendly activities, there’s also a host of great rollercoasters available for adrenaline junkies including Megafobia, Speed and Drenched!
Heatherton World of Activities
Heatherton is an award-winning attraction with a free admission policy that is open all year, providing a pay as you play facility – allowing customers to choose what they want to partake in before purchasing tickets.
The site offers an array of activities for the whole family to participate in, including archery, bowls, go karting, a tree tops trail, zip line… and so much more that we’d be here all day if we tried to list it all!
Height and age restrictions can apply to some activities, so you are recommended to check the restrictions before you visit – you can do so at their website, here.
Heatherton is also a dog friendly activity park that includes a dog agility course, making it a perfect venue for families that have brought their four-legged friends along to the Celtic Haven Resort!
Manor Wildlife Park
As good as Folly Farm is, it faces stiff competition from the amazing Manor Wildlife Park, which has a number of incredible animals and you can have the opportunity to meet a tiger or be a keeper – a package that affords you the opportunity to get three uninterrupted hours of being up-close with their beautiful animals.
There are also a variety of specific walks available for visitors, including the Lemur Walk-through, African Village and Wander with the Wallabies that enables visitors to get close to some of the most amazing creatures from across the globe.
You can top your day off with a visit to the indoor hay barn play area, climbing wall and bouncy castle zone or have your face painted to look like your favourite animal!
Terima is celebrating her fourth birthday and on a very important day… 🎉😻🎉 It's #EndangeredSpeciesDay! With estimates of 400 individuals left in the wild, Terima along with every other tiger is invaluable to the conservation efforts to save this species! #MadAboutManor #manorwildlifepark #endangeredspecies #sumatrantiger #tiger #conservation
The Dinosaur Park Tenby
The dinosaur park is a great day out for young families, with their dinosaur trail enabling you to take your kids into the land before time that is home to over 30 dinosaurs – including the infamous brachiosaurus and stegosaurus.
The park also has numerous other activities available, including a 12-hole mini golf course, maze, indoor play zone, Bubble Ride, Disco Boats and Jurassic Chariots to play on as well as the likes of trampolines and motorised tractors.

Coasteering with Jump Bros
While traditional water sports such as surfing and body boarding remain ever popular, the popularity of coasteering has grown exponentially over the past few years.
Not far from the resort is the amazing Jump Bros Coasteering, who offer an epic adventure as you scramble, swim, climb, jump, traverse and explore its majestic coastline.
Though coasteering is largely associated with displays of bravery and testing your physical capabilities but the activity also affords participants with the opportunity to get at one with nature and spot wildlife from a unique vantage point as they explore little coastal gems that would otherwise be inaccessible.
We wouldn’t recommend you take little children out on a venture like this but it could be perfect for kids 10 and above. You can check their site out here!
