Celtic Haven Gentle Gym raise money for local charities

13 members of the Celtic Haven Gentle Gym last week pulled on their running shoes to help raise money for a number of local charities.

Participating in the FootStep Run, the team ran or power-walked 3-miles in the event that sees entrants travel from Saundersfoot towards Stepaside, raising money along the way.

The FootStep Run saw members head up the Strand, through the old railway tunnels and along the Pembrokeshire coastline whilst entertainment was provided by live music.

The run saw the team raise money for the Dai Rees Foundation, Wales Air Ambulance and Paul Sartori.

The Gentle Gym is a membership club ran by the Celtic Haven Resort that is tailored towards people that are over-55 and focuses on building fitness and friendships.

Part of the Celtic Haven Leisure Club, Gentle Gym membership allows members to get physically fit with people of similar abilities in an inclusive environment.

On the group’s achievements at the Footstep Fun Run, Celtic Haven’s Fitness Professional Iân Morris said: “The whole Gentle Gym team had a great time at the run, which is one of the many community events we’ve participated in as part of our summer targets.

“Everybody knows someone that’s benefited from the work that these local charities do so it’s wonderful to have helped raise funds for them, too.”
