Six reasons autumn is the best season…

10th September 2018
Why we love autumn

With autumn firmly on its way, we thought we’d put together a definitive guide as to why autumn is perhaps the best of the four seasons.

From bonfire celebrations to brisk coastal walks, here’s everything we love about autumn!

Cosy evenings are incoming

Nights are drawing in earlier and it’s time to get your woolly jumpers, hats and coats out of the cupboard as we prepare for cooler climes after an unforgettable summertime!

Nothing beats spending an evening in with the family, enjoying some quality time watching a film or playing a board game.

Blankets, hot drinks and warm clothes… preferably in a beautiful coastal location… are key to staving off the cold and we can’t wait for it to come around!

It’s okay to eat comfort food

Nothing beats some heart-warming, lovingly made food on an autumn’s day.

Whether it’s a slow roasted joint of meat, a slow-cooked stew or a loaded jacket potato – autumn is definitely the time to treat yourself to some comfort food.

Whether it’s a home-cooked meal, the Waves restaurant soup of the day or a treat from one of our friends in Tenby, such as Fuchsia Caffe, a warming meal somehow always tastes better in the midst of autumn!

The return of autumnal colours

Beautiful summer vistas are majestic in their own right but there’s something unbeatable about the splendour of autumn, with nature producing an array of stunning colours that give the season a magical quality.

Places like Colby Gardens and the Stackpole Estate are transformed over autumn, affording wonderful walking opportunities and the chance to take some breath-taking snaps of the county.

Just like these…

The thrills of Halloween

A time for ghosts and ghouls, Halloween brings out the inner child in all of us.

Whether it’s trick-or-treating, enjoying a party with friends, nestling down to a scary film or enjoying a ghost walk around Tenby, Halloween is one of the highlights of the season for millions of people across the UK as they bid to out dress their friends with their innovative new costumes!

Fireworks at bonfire night

As if the excitement of Halloween isn’t enough, we also get treated to the wonders of bonfire night too.

Fireworks, hot dogs and burgers with warm drinks, bonfire night epitomises autumn at its very best… just make sure to dress up nice and warm!

Fresh coastal air

A summer’s day on the beach can be an unbeatable experience but there’s certainly something special about the coastal air in the autumn time, too.

The drop in temperature brings a crispness that’s tough to beat and can leave you feeling rejuvenating – especially once you get back into the warmth and treat yourself to a hot drink and maybe something tasty to accompany it!

With Lydstep Haven on our doorstep, we certainly can’t wait to make the most of a beach stroll or two in the coming months!
